One of my favorite things in the world is books, and although I love all books (new and old) there is something so special about vintage books. I always wonder about who first owned the book and I think about all who have read it during its long lifetime. One of my favorite authors from my childhood is Gene Stratton Porter who wrote Freckles and A Girl of the Limberlost, and The Keeper of the Bees, my absolute favorite book as a child. (I still hope to be a beekeeper someday!) I like her writing because of how she describes all the beautiful flora and fauna. I am a big nature-lover and I have always appreciated books by authors who incorporate the natural world as a main theme in their writing.
Do you have any favorite childhood books you still hold dear?
