One of my favorite things to do in the Bay Area is to spend time in San Francisco. One of my favorite things to do in San Francisco (okay, okay, everywhere) is to try new places to eat. I hadn’t previously spent much time in Hayes Valley, but I’m already planning my next trip back. This little café was nice and busy which is always a good indication that yummy things are on the horizon. I like to think I have a special foodie-radar system in place for just these occasions. I was spending some time with my mom and I thought the name of the restaurant, Chez Maman, was cutely appropriate.
My mom ordered a roasted vegetable quiche, although it was not as tasty as it looked. I think that it was probably day-old as it tasted a bit past its prime.
I was in a mood to cut no corners so I ordered a burger with brie cheese as a topping. It’s hard to mess up a burger, but any place that has specialty cheeses as a topping option wins unlimited bonus points any day. The other extra special cheese options included goat cheese and roquefort.
I’m not sure you realize how Irish I am when it comes to my feelings about potatoes. Suffice it to say: extra fries are always welcome.
